Everybody is entitled to express an opinion on matters of social importance, but it's wise to confine our comments to areas we understand and can confidently express an intelligent view, if we want to be taken seriously.
Also, there's no point repeating what others have said if we don't truly know it ourselves, unless we attribute the quote to the author, in which case it's put forward as someone else's idea, and not our own.
That's more honest.
