Love of authority- Stockholm syndrome

I see people suffering from "Stockholm Syndrome", with their unbalanced love of worldly authority and their unhealthy desire to please and conform to it, and I wonder about their childhood, and whether they had an emotionally distant father, who they found difficult to elicit caring emotions from.
