Medicine brainwashes people who are in a vulnerable state

Doctors and the medical establishment, in general, come across people in a vulnerable state which makes them easier to influence or brainwash with what the doctors have been brainwashed with.

Religions and cults work in a similar manner, pouncing on people who are in a vulnerable state, filling them full of the cults beliefs, of which they are certain, which makes these ideas seem more convincing to their quarry.
