Why I prefer not to rely on research results

I generally prefer not to quote from scientific studies because unless I was the chief researcher overseeing the whole operation - from data collection to final analysis and report writing, I can't be sure how trustworthy the results are.

Rather, I would prefer to rely on logic, which is true no matter what our preferences may be, unlike much of what passes for "research", which seems to often be bought and sold by vested interests.
