Unless we are current with the science we can't know whether the science is settled or not.
And how many people are really a cross the science in a scientific field? After all, it's so specialised these days.
And even if it is settled it doesn't mean it's right, it just means no-one with any power in the field is questioning it right now.
What tomorrow will hold, who knows?
