Experts, incentives, and economics

Those of us with a background in economics are less interested in the words of "experts" and more interested in the incentive structures that cause them to think and speak as they do.

If the incentives are understood the words of so-called "experts" can be predicted with great accuracy.

The idea that the experts presented to us by the corporate media are somehow independent and unblinkered in their knowledge seems dangerously naive to me.
