Yes, I believe the power elite do wish to turn the common man and woman into a “battery” (mirroring the Matrix films) - in this case a “unit of production”- that serves the power elites grandiose plans and makes them richer.
The only way to stop this has been demonstrated by Gandhi. It involves the common man and woman refusing to act to serve their economic masters until the shackles of slavery have been released from them.
This will mean new government and corporate leadership by those who are wise and incorruptible replacing the current corrupt leadership and designing an economic and social system that works for everyone, not just the greedy .01%.
