Poor neighborhoods and compulsory schooling

Probably the strongest argument for compulsory schooling for all children is the likelihood that children in poorer neighborhoods would fall behind otherwise.

That is, the belief that school attendance would be much lower among poor children that with children from more affluent backgrounds.

Interestingly, this happens anyone among poorer children as friendly rates are much higher in "disadvantaged" areas due to more casual attitudes towards schooling held by many in these areas.

Whether making schooling"compulsory" or not affects this rate of non-attendance, I do not know, but this is prime reason for having such an anti-freedom or totalitarian approach to this topic.
