"Living on" through other people after death

Some people say that you live on after death through other people's memories of you, or through your children (if you have any), or in the works you have performed while on Earth.

However, to me you either exist as a conscious, experiencing being (in this world or another) or you don't exist at all!

For me,  there is no "living on" through other people, for it is them living on, not you!

I find it odd when people claim otherwise. For the work you perform or the changes you make to a place are not "you" and nor are the thoughts others think of you.

What "you" are is a conscious, experiential being, interacting with other such beings in a world you are each conscious of. And if that "you" ceases to exist at death, then it's game over, baby, and all those words about "living on" are nonsense to supposedly make people feel better!

Of course, I actually believe we are multi-dimensional beings, capable of inhabiting an unlimited number of realities, and that our connection with the physical body and the reality it operates within is purely temporary, and designed to be just a small fraction of our total experiencing through the infinite stretch of "time".
