The deeper we penetrate into reality the more we enter the realm of the mystical, or what certain scientific materialists like to call “woo”.
Because of the distaste some people have for the uncertainty of quantum physics and the shadowy world it describes they retreat back into a superficial, appearance based belief in materialistic determinism.
These beliefs offer the certainty and security many timid souls crave. Sadly, they don’t reflect the true nature of things, as cutting edge physics increasing reveals, and so such people must remain with their heads firmly in the sand and their philosophical underpinnings stuck in 19th Century thought which still remains popular.
