Religion has so embittered many people, that anything that smacks of pointing to a God, or an intelligence behind the world we see, it is immediately dismissed, often angrily!
Clearly, this limits discussions that are dealing with the big questions, which cannot be answered in the science lab, if the notion of inherent intelligence is outlawed!
