Confusion between religion and God

The fact that religions are full of superstition and error says nothing about the reality, or otherwise, of a creator God.

One (religion) is a creation of man, the other, the supposed creator of All That Is, or at least the initiator of the processes that ultimately gave birth to All That Is.

A lot of people conclude that because religion is nonsense (in their opinion) God must also be nonsense. But that's like believing the star we call Alpha Centuari is nonsense because "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" is nonsense.

The reality or otherwise of God is completely independent of the pronouncements of religion, just as the reality or otherwise of Alpha Centuari is independent of any nursery rhymes we may make about it!
