it's just that most are unconscious of it.
For them the path is the school of hard knocks
where destructive behaviours are "punished" by life
and constructive behaviours are rewarded.
For the conscious participants the spiritual path
consists of seeing the world as a mirror
and putting into that mirror those energies
which will benefit ourselves and all of life!
