Evidence & personal bias

When people say:
      "There is no evidence for XXXXX"
    what they usually mean is:
      "There is no evidence for XXXXX
          that I am aware of
        or that I accept".

People far more readily
  and unquestioningly
      accept evidence
   for things it suits them to believe-
      than for things they find offensive
    and the "level of proof" required
   is correspondingly lower!
