There is a mistaken belief that those who originate an idea or product remain in control of it over the decades...

And that the good the originators were doing is still being done today...

But, sadly, it just doesn't work like that!

Things get taken over- products, institutions by people who may not have the purest motives. A trustworthy product or institution can become untrustworthy overnight if it has become compromised by amoral or ignorant forces.
