Science is a highly specific art form and those who practice it generally focus on a tiny minutiae of existence.
These are not the people to ask about "the big picture" and yet many people seem to think that because a person is a scientist they must be knowledgeable about all things.
Needless to say, this is a complete nonsense!
If you want to know about "the big picture" ask someone who has studied "the big picture", not a specialist, such as most scientists are!
