We are the seed, the earth is the ground, and heaven is the sky above

Earth= soil= constriction, difficulty and darkness

Heaven=sky=freedom, unencumbered expression and light

Both have their purpose, 

earth encouraging strength and resilience and providing grounding and stability...

Heaven is the reward for the difficulties encountered on earth, in the soil, and provides a freer, less resistive environment for expression.
