That is why we possess both...
We need them to function effectively in the realm we find ourselves.
Both have strengths and weaknesses.
One is highly dependent on conditioning- that is: what we believe as a result of being a member of a certain society of humans, whereas intuition is independent of that, but will be interpreted through our conditioned mind.
The advanced soul is aware of this and keeps a poised, still mind, while listening within to any messages being received from there, while also being attentive to the outer world.
Experience will tell us how trustworthy our inner voice or subtle feelings are, and in time we will learn to know what to trust and what not to.
The rational or thinking mind, in contrast, is there to check these feelings and see whether acting on them is practical and safe.
