Some folks are so drunk on the power they possess that they think it's OK to interfere with a child's biology, unnecessarily. Wait 'till the child (or adult) is old enough to make up their own mind and I think you'll find very few decide to have themselves cut or interfered with in this way.

Both are medical interventions the child has no say in that can be harmful and lead to death, in extreme cases. Better to save our interventions for when a child (or adult) is old enough to make up their own mind. After all, thanks to improved standards of living and antibiotics, infectious diseases are of limited concern in the west., making vaccines completely unnecessary.
