History is divided into three phases or types:
1. Irrefutable history. Events so obvious they cannot be denied. An example: that World War 2 actually happened and involved France, Germany, Britain, Soviet Union, USA etc.
2. PR of the participants involved. Today: what those with access to the mass media want you to believe. This may be the interpretation of an irrefutable event by those with the ability to spin a media story (often a government agency) or it may be a completely made up story.
3. Secret history. What actually happened but which has not become widely known and may be being intentionally hidden, by vested interests.
The first 2 categories are the "facts" the general public is familiar with and the third category, "secret history", usually, today, falls under the banner of "conspiracy theory"!
